The SDACC Office of Education provides various awards, scholarships, and internships for teachers and students. Additional information, including descriptions, eligibility, and the application process, is included here.
The SDACC Excellence in Education award is awarded to 2 administrators and 5 teachers each year.
SDACC Excellence in Education Award:
The North American Division and Seventh-day Adventist Church in Canada Offices of Education provide funding for the Caring Heart Award which recognizes outstanding student achievement in the area of Christian service at each senior academy for a grade 11 or 12 student.
Caring Heart Award:
The SDACC provides up to 2 Scholarships per year that may be awarded to students in the BU education degree program (junior year/1st year after degree or senior year/2nd year after degree).
Burman University Education Major Scholarship:
- F-210 - Scholarships for Education Majors at Burman University (BU)
1. The SDACC provides up to 2 Scholarships per year that may be awarded as follows:
a. $2000 Junior Year or 1st year in an After degree program.
b. $3000 Senior Year or 2nd year in an After degree program.
2. Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships:
a. Must be a current full-time student at BU with a minimum of 12 credits during the current and immediately preceding Fall semester.
b. Must be registered as an education major and demonstrate exceptional leadership both spiritually and within their area of expertise.
c. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.00.
d. Must be eligible to work in an Adventist school in Canada.
3. Recipients will be selected by Burman University.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Canada will be awarding five Future Teacher Scholarships to assist individuals who plan to major in Education at an accredited Seventh-day Adventist college/university in North America with the goal of teaching in the Canadian Adventist school system. Those eligible can apply to receive up to $7000 CDN over 4 years. Applications must be received by March 15.
Future Teacher Scholarship:
The SDACC will provide funding for up to seven (7) education interns per year.
