Woodlands Adventist School is seeking a caring, patient, and dependable Educational Assistant to join our school community. Working under the direction of classroom teachers and reporting to the Principal, the successful candidate will support student learning, participation, and independence in a positive, faith-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support individual students and small groups with learning activities and assignments.
Assist students with diverse learning, behavioural, emotional, and physical needs.
Follow teacher-directed learning plans and behaviour-support strategies.
Help students build positive relationships, self-regulation skills, and confidence.
Support classroom routines, transitions, and student engagement.
Observe and communicate student progress and concerns to classroom teachers.
Prepare learning materials and assist with classroom organization and educational technology.
Assist with supervision during recess, lunch, school activities, and field trips.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Assistant Certificate or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience working with children, particularly those with diverse learning and support needs, is an asset.
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow teacher direction and work independently within assigned responsibilities.
Willingness to uphold the teachings, values, and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
